Since its launch, the Hyundai Creta has been one of the most popular SUVs in India. With 32,799 units being sold in 2021, the Hyundai Creta has now reached a new milestone as India's most exported SUV. The Hyundai Creta exports are were increased by 26.17% year-on-year when compared to 25,995 units in 2020.
Last year, Hyundai Motor India exported 42,238 SUVs, including models like the Venue and Creta Alcazar. Venue's exports were 7,698 units, while Alcazar totalled 1,741 units. Hyundai has retained its SUV leadership position in the domestic market for the calendar year 2021, thanks to this milestone achievement. Creta encapsulates the corporation's dedication to the government's 'Make-in-India' mission, according to the company.

Commenting on CRETA becoming the highest exported SUV from India, Mr. Un Soo Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said, In line with Governments vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, HMIL is committed to Make-In-India, for the world and continue its legacy of having SUV leadership in the country. Ever since its global debut, Creta has been a runaway success in domestic & international markets alike. It has been successful in evoking aspirations & has stood the test of time by retaining customer appreciation, thereby playing a strategic role in Hyundais Global SUV portfolio.
Hyundai is one of the most popular SUV brands in outside markets, with the Creta being the most exported SUV from India. The fact that HMIL is one of India's biggest SUV exporters, with over 2.62 lakh units exported, demonstrates this, with the Creta and the Venue accounting for over 93 % percent of all SUV exports.

Due to the global semiconductor crisis and intermittent lockdown in several worldwide markets, HMIL recorded cumulative exports of 1,30,380 units in the calendar year 2021, a considerable increase of 31.8% over the calendar year 2020. Due to the brand's tremendous popularity and huge pent-up demand, HMIL observed a 91% increase in export orders. Dominica, Chad, Ghana, and Laos have all been added to HMIL's list of export markets.
