Hyundai Creta EV Spied Testing
The upcoming Hyundai Creta EV has been spotted undergoing testing showcasing its electric identity while retaining the familiar Creta silhouette. The camouflaged vehicle hints at aerodynamic design elements, such as aero-cut alloy wheels, to optimize range. A notable feature is the front-mounted charging port, offering convenient access compared to traditional side-mounted ports. This design choice could set a trend for future electric vehicles, simplifying the charging process.
Additionally, the Creta EV is likely to feature specially designed tires optimized for electric vehicles. These tires are expected to contribute to improved range and reduced noise levels, further enhancing the silent cabin experience typical of electric cars. The rear and side profiles of the Creta EV closely resemble the ICE model, including the distinctive connected LED taillight bar noted with a previous sighting.
While interior details remain obscured in these spy shots, the Creta EV is expected to share a similar layout with its ICE counterpart, incorporating premium features seen in other Hyundai EVs. This likely includes a distinctive four-spoke steering wheel, a dual-screen setup for the infotainment and instrument cluster, and a voice-activated panoramic sunroof. Front-ventilated seats are also anticipated to enhance comfort. The Creta EV is poised to offer advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), as evidenced by the radar module spotted on earlier spy shots. Additionally, a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function may be included, though any confirmation or scoop is still awaited.

Battery And Range Details
The upcoming Hyundai Creta EV is poised to make a significant impact on the Indian electric vehicle market. To address range anxiety, Hyundai is expected to offer two battery pack options: a 45 kWh unit for a range of up to 300 km and a larger 55-60 kWh unit for an extended range of around 500 km. Powering the Creta EV will be the same electric motor found in the entry-level Kona Electric. This motor delivers 138 hp and 255 Nm of torque, promising a spirited driving thrill, at par with the segment rivals.
As for the price, a starting price of around Rs. 20 lakhs is where it would be best placed where it will rival other EVs like Tata Nexon EV, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV400 EV, etc.
Verdict
The Hyundai Creta EV, with its advanced features and powerful electric motor, is well-positioned to attract a wide range of consumers as the Indian market embraces electric vehicles. Its success could strengthen Hyundai's position as a leader in the EV segment and pave the way for future electric vehicle offerings in India and maybe the Creta moniker could work its charm to get more people to opt for an EV as their next vehicle.
