The brand will also display the IONIQ 6 and NEXO electric, which are the IONIQ 5's larger siblings, during the next Auto Expo, which begins on January 11 (for media). Hyundai will assemble the IONIQ 5 locally in its Chennai plant, allowing the company to keep the price in the Rs 50-55 lakh bracket (ex-showroom).

The upcoming IONIQ 5 boasts the company's battery electric vehicles (BEVs) specific E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform). This car from the brand will be the first to boast this platform in India. The IONIQ 5 boasts a futuristic design language with some retro accents and has been awarded World Car of the Year 2022.
On a full charge, the IONIQ 5 will have a range of 631 kilometres, as verified by ARAI. The EV will have a 72.6 kWh battery pack, 217 bhp of maximum power, and 350 Nm of maximum torque. If we are talking about charging, a 350 kW DC charger can charge an EV from 10% to 80% in approximately 18 minutes.
A big, simple dashboard that will improve the interior's overall appearance will be found inside the IONIQ 5. It also includes a large sunroof which the brand names the Vision Roof. Other features include wireless charging, a head-up display, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, and other features. The EV will also include a magnetic dashboard and a glove box in the form of a drawer. The IONIQ 5 also has level 2 ADAS capabilities for safety. The EV will be the company's second SUV in India to feature ADAS. With the use of front radars, front cameras, and rear radars, Hyundai SmartSense uses technology to detect potential crashes, lower their likelihood, and, if required, automatically take steps to reduce their effects.

Verdict
The Hyundai IONIQ 5 will be a strong rival to the KIA EV6 and the Volvo XC40 Recharge. The company will be able to keep the pricing lower than the EV6 owing to the local assembly. The affordable price will put Hyundai's flagship EV ahead of KIA's. The Hyundai IONIQ 6 will be on display at the upcoming auto show, but we don't anticipate its introduction in India any time soon.
