Highly anticipated compact SUV, the Kia Seltos ready for an official Indian unveiling on 4th July 2023. While we have spotted the same on quite a few occasions already, we have an idea of what new to expect when it breaks cover on the said date. Since the Seltos facelift has been launched globally earlier, we can say that the Indian unit bears a lot of similarities. Also, you can now pre-book the Seltos facelift for a token amount of Rs. 25,000 at Kia dealerships.
But are you wondering what all changes with this one? Read on to find out.
Kia Seltos Facelift Design
Since we spotted the facelifted Seltos a few days back, we have some idea about the updates on the outside. It is safe to say that the Indian unit is almost similar to the one selling globally. It gets tweaked front and rear profiles with a refresh to the headlamps and taillights design. The grille at the front is a revamped version as well whereas the taillights are where a complete visual disconnect happens.
The back lamps now look a lot like the ones we have seen on the Kia Carens. On top of that, an LED strip running between both lamps is highly probable.
Interior And Features

Although there are no clear shots of the interior available of the Indian unit, we still have a fair idea of what it will be coming with. For starters, it is most likely getting the advanced driver's assistance system ADAS as one of its main highlights. On top of that, it will be a feature-packed proposition with offering like ventilated seats, wireless phone projection, a big infotainment display, a panoramic sunroof, and more. All in all, when launched, it will take on the biggies of the segment more aggressively than before.
Powertrain
There are no concrete updates about the powertrain availability, but it will most likely continue with the same engine as the current Seltos. Current engine options include a 1.5-liter NA petrol unit that churns out 115 PS and 144 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and IVT gearbox. The 1.5-liter diesel unit makes 116 PS and 250 Nm. Transmission choices include 6-speed iMT and 6AT.
However, a new 1.5 L turbo petrol unit is expected to be offered in addition to these options as well.
Rivals
Indian market currently accommodates compact SUVs from almost all carmakers. Seltos facelift, when launched, will face tough heat from the likes of the Maruti Grand Vitara/ Toyota Hyryder, Hyundai Creta, and the latest entrant, the Honda Elevate.
VERDICT- Now that we know for sure that the Seltos facelift is unveiling on July 4th and pre-bookings are underway, we have a lot of cues of what to expect. The new styling and features along with the current favorite of Indian buyers, the ADAS, already looks like a huge demand surge is waiting for when it is launched.
