Mahindra BE.05 Base Variant
The newly spotted test mule was fitted with black steel wheels showing that it's a base variant. Also, the base variant boasts a new circular headlamp assembly instead of the fancy LED headlamp assembly in the top-spec variants. Moreover, the base variant gets a simple horizontal DRL, while the top-spec variant gets a bigger L-shaped LED DRL. The side profile gets flush-type door handles in the base variant as well.
One interesting element in the newly spotted test mule is the roof carrier which looks good with the aesthetic of the car. The roof carrier is probably fitted for testing purposes or we can expect it to be an official accessory for the BE.05.
If we talk about the top-spec versions, the headlamp assembly is different and consists of a fancy-looking headlamp assembly with L-shaped LED DRL, more aerodynamic alloy wheels, and a glass roof. The top-spec variant will also get a lot of features such as a dual-screen setup one for the infotainment and the other for the instrument cluster. The BE.05 will also get a new two-spoke steering wheel with BE badging on it.
On the features front, we can anticipate it to feature automatic climate control, wireless charging, ventilated seats, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, ADAS, and 6 airbags, among other features. Moreover, the BE.05 is expected to come with a 60-80 kWh battery pack to give it a good range.
Verdict
Mahindra is eyeing big on the electric vehicle segment and the BE lineup will be an only electric lineup. The brand is aggressively testing the upcoming electric vehicles and kept a tightlip about the specifications of these vehicles. We expect these vehicles to come with a good performance and range. Also, they are expected to create a new benchmark in the EV industry.
