Mahindra BE 05 Spotted In Action With More Details
Just a few days ago, the Mahindra BE 05 was caught on camera in a sterling Grey exterior that revealed a lot of details about the same. The latest spy shot gets it under wraps again on the roads, where you can notice its road presence and how it actually feels out in the open. And to put it in words, it looks pretty slick, and looks like the Tata Curvv EV is soon going to get yet another rival that could seriously impact its appeal. This vehicle features the signature C-shaped LED DRLs, a standout element of the BE 05. Mahindra has equipped it with flush door handles, and the large wheel arches give it a robust appearance, enhanced by what seem to be 20-inch wheel covers. From the images, the car appears quite imposing, and its sharp design is sure to catch attention when it hits Indian roads.
For the rear profile, the C-shaped LED DRLs are consistent, while the rear bumper sports a glossy black finish accentuated by chrome details. The rear diffusers add a sporty touch to the overall design. Inside, the cabin will maintain the previously revealed layout, featuring a two-spoke steering wheel with a BE (Born Electric) badge and dual screens for the driver and infotainment system.

Battery And Specs
Reports indicate that the vehicle will offer a choice between a 60 kWh battery and a 70 kWh long-range variant, with an anticipated range of about 450 km. Specifications reveal that it will produce 230 hp and 380 Nm of torque, as confirmed by Mahindra in August 2023.
In terms of pricing, the BE 05 is expected to start at around Rs. 20 lakh ex-showroom, with the top trim reaching approximately Rs. 25 lakh, and could be introduced with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option.
Verdict
Although the EV sales are now receeding when we look at the trends, but Mahindra is betting big on its Born Electric range, and if you take everything into consideration, it could attarct the buyers that are out for something new and differnent. While being built up from scratch has its fair share of advantages, it remains to be seen if it could make an impact in the Indian car market, which is still loyal to the fossil powered movers.
