The heavily camouflaged prototype suggests the upcoming Maruti eVX model, and while details are somewhat concealed, the distinctive features hint at its identity. Maruti Suzuki's design evolution from concept to production is often marked by significant transformations, raising anticipation for the final design of the eVX. The concept version, measuring 4.3 meters in length with a 2700 mm wheelbase, positions itself to compete with the forthcoming electric Hyundai Creta.

The interior of the Maruti eVX is anticipated to feature a sophisticated dual-screen setup, comprising digital clusters and an infotainment system, each measuring around 10 inches. Notably, the exterior reveals a distinctive feature with ORVMs equipped with a bump, hinting at the inclusion of a 360-degree camera system for enhanced visibility. Further, the front left fender showcases a charging socket, emphasizing the electric nature of the vehicle. The rear doors adopt hidden door handles, reminiscent of the design seen in the Swift, and integrated into the C-pillar. However, the Swift facelift has now shifted the door handles back to its conventional place.

It's noteworthy that the Maruti eVX is part of a collaborative effort with Toyota, leading to the development of a shared platform, with Toyota planning to introduce its own version based on this collaboration.

Battery And Range: Upto 550 km

The eVX boasts a robust 60 kWh battery, claiming an impressive 550 km range on a full charge. Additionally, an alternative variant equipped with a smaller 48 kWh battery is expected, offering a commendable range of approximately 400 km on a full charge.

Verdict

While some manufacturers are working to enter the space, others are on the road to keep evolving. The Maruti Suzuki brand name carries a reputation of its own which is sure to rule out any disadvanatges it had by being late to the party. However, till the time it gets ready to roll out of showrooms, the electric cars will be having a bigger hsare in the market which in turn will increase its scope of  adaptability, but also make it more challenging with the bar continuosly raising. .Also, If you are someone with a passion for engines mounted on wheels, you must join our Whatsapp Group Community of petrolheads to find out more exciting stuff about the Auto world.
