The automobile sector saw a sluggish pace sometime back, but it is now clearly towards a nice year ahead. This clearly reflects in the number of bookings, and the time period you will have to show some patience. The Maruti Grand Vitara has already clocked 1.20 lakh bookings and is now commanding a wait time just north of 9 months.
It was launched in September of 2022, and since then has remained in continuous demand. The deliveries of approx 32,000 units have been done, and a lot of Vitara's will be rolling out in the coming months.

This is the current scenario for most of the newly launched cars, owing to the semiconductor chip shortage, complemented by rising demands.

Grand Vitara Details
Powering the Grand Vitara is an all-new 1.5-liter petrol engine with a strong-hybrid tech, paired with an e-CVT. It also gets a 1.5-liter mild-hybrid petrol motor that comes mated to a 5-speed MT and a 6-speed AT. The manual variants of the Grand Vitara get an optional AWD as an option. With an ARAI-claimed mileage of up to 27.97 km for strong-hybrid variants, it is Indias most fuel-efficient SUV. This is one of the main reasons for its charm in a mileage-sensitive market like India.
Price
The all-new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara price starts from Rs 10.45 lakh to Rs 19.65 lakh, ex-showroom. This mid-size sport utility vehicle takes on a lot of SUVs in the sub-20 lakh price segment, including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, etc.
VERDICT- The waiting times are now just part of the car-buying journey. But what you get after the patience is what all matters. Not saying that these long waiting periods are acceptable, but keeping the supply chain issue in mind, if the end product satisfies us, the wait is very much worth it.
