India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki has recently teased its upcoming all-electric SUV- the eVitara in India. The eVitara is essentially an electric counterpart of the currently available Vitara in our region. In. the recent teaser, the automaker has announced that the electric SUV will be showcased at the forthcoming Bharat Mobility Expo, to be held from 17 January to 20 January. Maruti Suzuki eVitara: Details
Based on the HEARTECT-e platform, the eVitara is set to become the automaker's first-ever all-electric offering across the world including India. The electric SUV will offer best-in-class features and safety in the segment. Maruti Suzuki has already attracted eyeballs by unveiling the eVitara globally at the EICMA 2024.
Maruti Suzuki eVitara: Features
The eVitara will be a global offering of the automaker, so we can expect to it be equipped with some great features. These include a dual display setup - which comprises the infotainment system and digital driver's display. Other features that will be offered with the E-SUV are automatic AC, wireless phone charger and ventilated seats. On the safety front, it will have features such as a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags and an electronic parking brake.
Maruti Suzuki eVitara: Powertrain
The eVitara will offer two battery pack options- a 49 kWh and a 61 kWh unit. The smaller (49 kWh) variant is capable of making 144 PS of power and 189 Nm of torque and gets an FWD drivetrain while the bigger (61kWh) is available with both 2WD and AWD options, producing 174/189 Nm and 184 PS/300 Nm respectively. The top-spec variant of the eVitara is expected to offer a maximum driving range of 550 km/charge.
