Maruti Suzuki Fronx Sigma Base Variant: Exterior Design
Being the entry point to the Fronx line-up, the base Sigma variant features almost similar front fascia as the top-spec trim, however, the tri-beam LED headlamps have been replaced by regular projector-based halogen units. It also misses out on NEXTre LED DRLs along with NEXWave grille. Towards the sides, the Sigma trim gets steel wheels, however, the brochure mentions that the wheel covers are also a part of the package. The black side body cladding running across the length of the vehicle is retained along with black ORVMs and door handles as well as fender-mounted turn indicators.
The rear profile features the same LED tail lamps as the top variants, minus the centre connecting light strip. Apart from this, it is also devoid of a rear wiper & washer and UV-cut window glasses.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Sigma Base Variant: Interiors, Safety Tech and Features
As it is quite clear from the images, the interiors of the Fronx Sigma look quite plain and simple. It misses out on a host of basic equipment such as chrome inside door levers, rear parcel tray, electrically adjustable ORVMs, infotainment unit, steering mounted controls, rear AC vents and more. Talking about features, the Sigma trim comes kitted with all four power windows, tilt adjustable steering, a keyless entry system, a 60:40 split rear seat, automatic climate control and manual day/night IRVM amongst others.
In terms of safety tech, the Fronx base trim gets dual front airbags, ESP, hill start assist, reverse parking sensors, rear defogger, ISOFIX child seat mounts and all 3-Point ELR seat belts.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Sigma Base Variant: Powertrain
Under the hood, the Fronx entry-level trim only comes with the option of a 1.2 litre K12C petrol engine producing 90 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque and it is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine also gets a 5-speed AMT transmission option in the Delta and Delta+ variants.

Verdict: Maruti Suzuki Fronx Sigma base variant will be the starting price of the crossover's range, thus we can expect a very attractive price tag from the Indo-Japanese carmaker. Although there are some misses like the infotainment system, steering mounted controls, front centre armrest etc, however, these can be retrofitted as an accessory as per the buyer's requirements.
