One of the most popular hatchbacks, Maruti Swift is now expensive as the carmaker has hiked the price for the 2021 model. Apart from the Swift, all the CNG models of the Maruti now receives a price hike of up to Rs 15,000 starting from July 12th, 2021.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited today announced a price change for Swift and all CNG variants owing to an increase in various input costs. The increase in Ex-Showroom Prices (Delhi) is up to INR 15,000 on the above models. The new prices are effective from today i.e. 12th July 2021," Maruti Suzuki India Ltd stated in a regulatory filing today.
As said above, due to the rise in input costs this price hike is in order. Furthermore, Maruti claims that the increase in prices will also happen for the other models as well. Currently, the S-CNG makes up for six cars in Maruti's portfolio - Alto 800, Celerio, Eeco, S-Presso, Wagon R and Ertiga.

Regarding the Swift then the carmaker brought in the updated version in February this year. The 2021 Swift carried new exterior styling, features and a new 1.2L DualJet petrol unit. Features like cruise control, power-folding ORVMs, coloured MID and more.
This 1.2L DualJet is the same as found in Baleno and Dzire that makes as much as 90 PS of power with 113 Nm of peak torque. Compared with the older model, this new version generates 7 PS more power and delivers 23.20 kmpl for the manual whereas the AMT fuel efficiency figures stick to 23.76 kmpl.
