New entry-level Tata Altroz XE+ has been launched, which replaces the XM model, and is priced at Rs. 6.35 lakhs.
Tata has updated the variant list of their safest hatchback, the Altroz. The new Tata Altroz XE+ variant will replace the XM variant. The new trim slots in above the base XE trim. It starts with an ex-showroom price of Rs. 6.35 lakh with the 1.2-lire petrol engine, and with the 1.5-litre diesel engine it is priced at Rs. 7.55 lakh. Prices of the other variant have also seen some changes. The base XE trim sees a price reduction of Rs. 10,000, but other models see a price increase between Rs. 400 to Rs. 8,500.
The new XE+ trim has a price tag that is Rs. 45,000- Rs. 50,000 more than the base model. For this extra price, the new base model sees the addition of several new features. The standout features include:
- 3.5-inch Harman Infotainment system with four-speaker
- Bluetooth connectivity
- FM and AM radio
- USB port
- Reverse Parking Sensor
- A fast USB charger
- Remote Keyless entry
- ORVMs that are both manual foldable and electronically adjustable
- Electric Climate control
- Follow-Me Home Headlamps.
The new base model also does lose out on some features from the previous XM model. Some of this includes the standard electronically adjustable ORVMs, rear parcel shelf, and wheel caps for the steel rims.

Mechanically speaking, the Tata Altroz XE+ is powered by both petrol and diesel engines. The 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 86 Ps and 113 Nm of torque. Whereas, 1.5-liter four-cylinder, the diesel engine produces 90 Ps and 200 Nm of torque. Both these power mills come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as the standard option.
Theres also the Altroz iTurbo model that comes equipped with the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. This mill produces 110 Ps of power and 140 Nm of torque, mated to the 5-speed transmission.

Again, the new XZ+ model is an entry-level Altroz. If you are searching for more features, then you might think about the XM+ model. This trim comes equipped with steering mounted controls, smartphone connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside premium safety features like dual-front airbags, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake distribution, cornering stability control, and ISOFIX child seats.
