The Maruti Suzuki WagonR is currently one of the best selling products in the Indian market and is offered with two engine options while a CNG iteration of the car too is on sale in the country. While Maruti recently introduced a new Maruti WagonR in India, the brand might introduce new updates to this affordable hatchback. The updated model of the WagonR was recently spotted during a TVC shoot and here are all the details that we know so far.
To start with, the images that surfaced online do suggest that the car might be offered with some cosmetic updates including a dual-tone colour scheme. In addition to this, what we can clearly see are blacked-out wheels that help in diffing it an aggressive stance. While we are awaiting more details, the updated WagonR may also offer an updated cabin and new upholstery. The infotainment system too is expected to feature an update. Having said this, no mechanical changes will be made to the mechanical setup of the car.

Powering the current Maruti Suzuki WagonR are two engine options that include a 1.0-L K10B and 1.2-L K12M engine that are offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. An optional 5-speed AMT gearbox is also on offer with select variants. The new WagonR is expected to offer the upgraded 1.2-L DualJet petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech. On the other hand, the WagonR will continue to be offered with a CNG iteration that boasts a 1.0-L bi-fuel CNG engine.
While the brand is yet to announce any official details about the upcoming WagonR in the Indian market, we are expecting it to make it to the showrooms by late 2022. Once launched, it will take on the rivals like the Tata Tiago, and Hyundai Santro.
