In a development that adds another feather to Tata Motors, our homegrown carmakers, cap, the Altroz has crossed the 1,00,000 production milestone. The Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20-rivalling B2-segment hatchback is produced at the carmakers Pune-based manufacturing facility. Launched 20 months ago, the Altroz has managed to cross this milestone in spite of the market slowdown owing to the pandemic.

The Tata Altroz is its carmakers first-ever model to be based on the ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) architecture. In fact, the popularity of this small car has been such that it has been regular with achieving the second spot on segments month-wise sales chart. So far, the Altroz has clocked a maximum monthly sale of 7,550 units in March 2021. It has also enjoyed an average monthly sale of roughly 6,000 units in FY22, which has, in turn, translated into a market share of more than 20%.

The Tata Altroz has been on sale in three engine variants 1.2-litre Revotron naturally-aspirated petrol, 1.2-litre i-Turbo petrol and 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel. Other than being available in a range of trim levels, the Maruti Baleno-rival is also on sale in the recently launched Dark Edition that offers a handful of premium features, including iRA connected car technology, leatherette upholstery, 7-inch TFT digital instrumentation, touchscreen infotainment, cruise control, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and rear AC vents.
