Upcoming Toyota EV Based On Maruti eVX
The upcoming EV from Toyota has been previewed before, in the form of the Urban SUV Concept that was showcased globally in December 2023. Details of the Urban SUV Concept remain scarce for now, but Toyota has mentioned a few specifics. The production-spec version of this car measures 4300mm in length, 1820mm in width, and 1620mm in height. While the length is the exact same as the Maruti Suzuki eVX, the width and height is just 20mm longer.
The Japanese car maker has also confirmed that it will offer both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive powertrains, along with at least two battery options with varying capacity, to suit the needs of various buyers. Interestingly, the Maruti Suzuki eVX is confirmed to receive a 60kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 550km on a single charge. We can expect similar figures from the Toyota.
The production version of the Toyota Urban SUV Concept will likely follow soon after the Maruti Suzuki eVX goes on sale sometime in 2025. Both these cars will compete against the Hyundai Creta EV, the Tata Curvv EV, and the MG ZS EV.
