Toyota Innova Hycross G Variant
Toyota has carried out a number of cost-cutting measures in the new Innova Hycross base model. The base model of the MPV has 16-inch steel wheels, which appear smaller when compared to the size of the vehicle. Moreover, the front grille and bumper, which lack fog lamps, are painted black. The car has LED headlights, while turn indicators are halogen. The MPV has body-colored door handles and turn indicators on the ORVM on its side. It has a reverse parking sensors, LED taillights, and a blacked-out bumper at the back.
The MPV receives certain interior features from its higher trims, although some standard features are missing. Keyless entry, push-button start/stop, an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold feature, type-C charging outlets, and other features are provided by the manufacturer. Unfortunately, the MPV lacks equipment like a music system, automatic climate control, rear defogger, and electronically foldable ORVMs. The manufacturer has also included a MID that can be operated using the steering-wheel-mounted controls.
A seven-seater variant with captain seats in the second row and an eight-seater variant with a bench in the second row are the two seating arrangements available for the base variant. A cupholder tray, back air-conditioning controls, and type-C charging connections are also included for the second row (in 7-seater). This variant also offers rear wiper with washer, manual IRVM, traction control, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, and other features.

Toyota Innova Hycross Base Variant Engine Specification
The 2.0-liter engine in the Innova Hycross base model is paired with a direct shift CVT gearbox. With the base model, only this engine option is offered. Its engine has a maximum output of 209 Nm of peak torque and 173 bhp of maximum power. Its engine's claimed fuel efficiency is 16.13 km/l. This variant, which is targeted for fleet operators, also includes a speed governor that caps the speed at 80 km/h.
Verdict: Both fleet owners and governmental organizations can benefit greatly from the Toyota Innova Hycross base model. The Innova's comfort is unmatched by any other MPV in the market, and it offers versatility with its two seating arrangements. If the manufacturer had included some standard features, such as a music system, an electronically foldable ORVM, and others, the base variant might have been more alluring.
