Toyota Innova Hycross MPV has finally made its debut in India. The new MPV gets features like ADAS and delivers up to 21.1 kmpl of fuel economy.

Toyota India has surprised the Indian market yet again. The Toyota Innova Hycross MPV has debuted in India today. However, it has not launched yet which means the pricing of it still remains unknown. Meanwhile, the new MPV gets exciting features like ADAS, ventilated seats, etc. The ARAI-certified fuel economy is also staggering at 21.1 kmpl.

Innova HyCross India Design Details
While it is no surprise that the Hycross was aimed at India too; its debut has taken every enthusiast with a blow. The Innova Hycross is an evolution of the Innova Crysta in every sense. The showcased cars at the Indian debut event looked massive and futuristic. Its design has been changed thoroughly as it uses a bigger monocoque chassis now. Additionally, the front is now more masculine with SUV-type looks. The front grille is bigger with LED headlamps and LED projector foglamps. The long and sharp horizontal LED DRLs also act as turn indicators.
On the side profile, the car is now elongated with a curvy design. It also gets new alloy wheels as well. Meanwhile, the rear design seems to be inspired by other Toyota global models like the RAV4. It gets sharp and sleeks LED taillights with a big tailgate.
On the inside, there have been major changes. The whole cabin is now new in design with horizontal highlights on the dashboard. Toyota has used leather upholstery with soft-touch materials all over the interior panels. One can also notice the aluminum finished highlights inside the cabin. Additionally, the instrument cluster is a neat semi-digital console with a big MID. The steering wheel is also new and it is leather wrapped as well. Meanwhile, the rear seats are powered whereas the front seats get an additional ventilation system. Similarly, the flat floor helps in increasing the interior utility as three passengers can accommodate the third-row seating.
Innova HyCross Features
Toyota has buffed the Hycross with loads of features. It gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also supports Android Auto & Apple CarPlay on the go. Additionally, a 9-speaker JBL sound system has been embedded to enhance the cabin experience. The chestnut leather upholstery is well supported by the big panoramic sunroof, roof ventilation, & ambient lights.
In terms of safety, Toyota has equipped the Hycross with connected tech. It gets the Toyota Safety Sense or also known as ADAS. This means that it gets adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane trace assist, rear cross-traffic alert, etc. Meanwhile, the Hycross gets a standard 6-airbags inside the cabin.
Innova HyCross Engine & Specifications
With the Hycross, Toyota has ditched the diesel engine completely for the Innova brand. It gets a 2.0-lt petrol engine which makes a peak power of 174 bhp. This engine power is for the petrol-only variant which has no hybrid assist. The gearbox is also a CVT automatic which means that the Hycross will not get any manual gearbox.
Meanwhile, the hybrid engine gets a 186 bhp producing engine. Toyota also claims that the hybrid variant can do 0-100 kmph in just 9.5s. This makes the Hycross one of the fastest MPVs in India. As the monocoque chassis has helped the Hycross to lose 200kg of weight; its fuel economy was deemed to be higher. Hence, the ARAI-claimed fuel economy of the Hycross is a mind-boggling 21.1 kmpl.
Innova Hycross Price & Rivals
As Toyota unveiled the Hycross today, its pricing was not revealed. However, we suspect that it will be launched soon in India. We are expecting the pricing to revolve around Rs 22-28 lakh bracket. Additionally, its main rival will be the KIA Carnival as it seems until now.
