Toyota Innova Hycross: What's New With The GX(O) Variant?
This new variant of Toyota Innova Hycross sits above the GX trim and improves upon it with more tech. With this, you get LED foglamps, a rear defogger, a bigger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, dual-tone seats, front parking sensors, and more. You can opt for either a 7-seater version or the 8-seater version.
As far as the mechanicals are concerned, the Hycross is a petrol-only iteration of the iconic Innova MPV. You get a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine churning out 173hp power with 209 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a manual or automatic gearbox with a front-wheel drivetrain.
The strong-hybrid variants come with a 2.0 litre four-cylinder strong hybrid system that puts out 184bhp power and a claimed mileage of up to 23.24 kmpl. Meanwhile, if you are looking for a diesel Innova, you have to go for the Cryta model as it exclusively comes with a diesel engine.

Price And Rivals
Currently, Toyota has not revealed the prices of this new variant. The Hycross GX non-hybrid variants range from Rs. 19.77 to Rs. 19.82 lakhs. The new variant is expected to retail at a premium of around Rs. 60,000 to 80,000 more. It continues to rival the likes of Tata Safari, XUV700, and the MG Hector Plus.
Verdict
Toyota Innova has a special spot for itself in the market with no absolute direct rivals, and has a very loyal fanbase. It offers robust mechnicals, extremely cmfortable ride, and ample of space for long trips. The new variant ups the game with additonal features and will offer a more convenient ride.
