Mahindra XUV e8 Spied Testing: LED Lighting, Connected Lightbar, ADAS, And More
The Mahindra XUV e8 retains the general silhouette of the XUV700, but its electric character is immediately apparent from the front fascia. The flat bumpers devoid of an open grille, and the placement of ADAS sensors confirm this distinction. Notably, the vertically stacked headlamp units are part of a patented design by Mahindra. The vehicle also features a connected LED bar, a characteristic increasingly seen in modern EVs.
The bonnet and doors of the XUV e8 exhibit similarities to the XUV700, featuring a recognizable kink near the C-pillar and a sleek roofline. This design reflects Mahindra's previous patent filing, establishing a visual link between the XUV.e8 and the well-established XUV700 model. In line with maintaining competitive pricing, Mahindra plans to leverage parts sharing with the conventional XUV700, including components like switchgear, door panels, and seats. This approach aims to strike a balance between innovation and cost-effectiveness in the production of the XUV.e8.
Interior And Features
Information from previous interior spy shots reveals an intriguing layout highlighted by three horizontally oriented screens, something that Mahindra has filed a patent for as well. The first screen, situated behind the steering wheel, acts as the digital driver's display. Positioned centrally, the second screen serves as the hub for infotainment functions. The third screen, dedicated to the passenger, provides extensive vehicle details and additional features. Notable updates include a touch-based climate control panel and a flat-bottomed, two-spoke steering wheel reminiscent of recent Tata SUV designs, and a rich set of features, expected to even venture beyond the amenities on the XUV700.
