Skoda Elroq EV Details: Hyundai Ioniq 5 Rival?
Revealed partially through the camouflaged images, the Elroq is going to be the first car by Skoda to use Modern Solid Design architecture. This design language is visible through elements like sharp matrix LED headlights, a wider stance with aerodynamic elements, and more. Additionally, the bonnet will get lettering, similar to the Vision S concept. The side profile has 5-spoke black alloy wheels and a rear right quarter panel charging port.
While the interior details are unknown, it is likely to get a big 13-inch floating infotainment screen and a 5.6-inch digital console. Other features will include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and heated seats, wireless connectivity, and more. Skoda is known to make the safest vehicles in the market and the Elroq is also likely to get a 5-star Euro NCAP cabin and an ADAS module.
Powering the Elroq are 4 different drivetrain options. These include 50, 60, 85, and 85X. The 50 will get a 55kWh battery with a 168bhp electric motor at the rear wheels. The 60 will get a 63kWh battery with a 201bhp motor and RWD configuration. The higher 85 & 85x will be powered by an 82kWh battery that makes a peak power of 282bhp (85) and 295bhp (85x). The 85x is going to be offered in an AWD configuration for the global markets. All of these variants can be charged from 10-80 percent within 28 minutes. The max range is said to be more than 560 km per charge.
Elroq India Launch, Price, Rivals
Skoda has recently announced that it is looking for local partners in India. The continuous struggle to sell in good numbers has now taken a fatigue route. Skoda aims to construct 'Indian-spec' cars with less complex technology. Hence, the possibility of Skoda bringing Euro-spec cars to India is slim to none, for now. Therefore, we assume that Elroq is unlikely to come to India soon. If it comes, it'll be rivalling the Hyundai Ioniq 5 & Kia EV6.
