VW Taigun is one of the most popular mid-size SUVs in the segment. Based on the latest MQB AO IN platform, Taigun is made in India, made for India. The German carmaker has now increased the prices of this SUV and it sees a hike of up to Rs 60,000 for some of the variants.

Under the hood, VW Taigun gets two engine options - 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI. The former is the same unit as found in the Virtus too and pumps out 114 bhp of power with a peak torque of 178 Nm. This motor is mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard and gets a six-speed torque converter automatic as an option.

The 1.5L motor is one of the most powerful in its segment. It produces 148 bhp of power with a peak torque of 250 Nm. This engine too gets a six-speed manual transmission as standard. For automatic, it gets a 7-speed DSG unit and it is only available with the GT Plus variant which also happens to receive the highest hike of Rs 60,000.
Feature-wise, Taigun gets a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated cooled seats, wireless charging, cruise control and more. Safety equipment on the SUV includes multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, electronic stability control and others.
