VW India is all set to launch its upcoming sedan, Virtus in the market on June 9. Available in two petrol engine options - 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI, the Virtus will rival fifth-gen Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Skoda Slavia. While several images of the top of the line variant have been spotted at the dealership level, this is the first time that the base trim, Comfortline of the VW Virtus has been spotted. Let's have a look at what base variant of the Virtus gets!
At the front, it is now devoid of fog lights and gets a different style of headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. Even the turn indicators here receive LED treatment. Since it is a base variant, it gets a blacked-out treatment instead of chrome highlights as found in the top of the line variants. Surprisingly, even the base trim of the VW Virtus looks good.
Moving towards the side profile then the base variant of the Virtus gets a 16-inch steel wheel with wheel caps. The Skoda Slavia gets 15-inch steel wheels. Here one also gets adjustable ORVMs with integrated LED indicators. Even the door handles of the sedan are body-coloured.

The sight at the rear profile looks good too with the blacked-out LED taillight treatment and Virtus badging at the bootlid. Since this is the base variant, the lower part of the bumper does not get the chrome highlight as found in the mid and top of the line variants.
The interior of the VW Virtus base variant gets a dual-tone colour scheme, a multi-function steering wheel, a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, manual HVAC function, analogue instrument cluster, all-four power windows, fabric seats and many more.
When compared with the top of the line variants, it misses out on several things like an electric sunroof, digital instrument cluster, body-coloured dashboard panels, fog lights, chrome highlights on the outside, rear parking camera, bigger touchscreen infotainment system, better-equipped music system and the list goes on.
