We got to admit, amidst this lockdown in the country and other parts of the world due to Coronavirus, several businesses, industries have been shut down. And the India Automobile sector is one of them to suffer the most since there has been a delay in launches of new cars. However, once this ends, we will witness several new launches and updates to the current models. One such model is Maruti Swift with the inclusion of DualJet petrol engine.
Yes, Maruti has brought in this engine with the Dzire facelift and along with the improved NVH levels and more performance, it is also delivering 13% better fuel economy. And once this Coronavirus ends, we can expect that Maruti will bring this Dualjet engine in the Swift.
Sharing more details on the engine then this 1.2L unit produces 89 bhp which is a jump from 83 bhp earlier. The torque figures remain the same at 113 Nm. Transmission to sticks to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT. What's new is that this engine delivers an ARAI certified fuel economy of 23.26 km/l and the AMT sticks to 24.12 km/l. That has risen from 21.21 km/l from the pre-lift version.

For a petrol car and that too without the Maruti's mild-hybrid SHVS system, the fuel economy is huge. And we can expect the same to come with the Swift facelift.
Along with the mechanical changes, the facelifted Swift is also expected to see some cosmetic changes at the front and rear. Both the bumpers can be redesigned and a fresh fog light housing can be given. Also, the top-spec trims could receive a new alloy wheel design.
Inside, the cabin might see updated upholstery design along with tweaked instrument cluster. Also, the 7.0-inch SmartPlay infotainment system touchscreen unit will be new.

Once launched, the facelifted Swift will ditch in its diesel engine. Also, it will rival with the likes of Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Ford Figo, Ford Freestyle and Hyundai Grand i10.
