Skoda Auto India Private Limited is on a roll. The Czech car manufacturer is going all guns blazing to kick-start its India 2.0 Project with a bang. A few weeks ago, Skoda hosted a big fat digital launch event in which not just one or two but three new cars were launched in the Indian market. The carmaker launched the Rapid BS6, new Karoq SUV and the Superb Facelift. Skoda Superb is the Flagship Saloon from the Czech-based carmaker in India. Today we have for you the First Look Review of this new 2020 Skoda Superb Facelift.
2020 Skoda Superb Facelift: Overview
The Skoda Superb was first launched in India in the year 2004. After a decade, i.e. in 2014, the second-generation was Superb was introduced in the country. The Superb is a Premium D-segment sedan and it is well-known for its opulent interiors and excellent powertrain options. The second-gen Superb was launched in 2014 and just two years later in 2016, the third-generation Superb made its way to our shores. The third-gen Superb was better than its predecessor in almost every department. Now, fast forward to 2020 and we got the new Skoda Superb Facelift.
2020 Skoda Superb Facelift: Looks and Colour Options
The new Skoda Superb Facelift looks strikingly awesome. It is offered in two trims: sporty-looking Sportline and opulence-oriented Laurin & Klement (L&K). The Sportline trim gets sporty elements like a blacked-out grille, ORVMs, a contrasting roof, etc. It also gets an all-black interior with red inserts while the Laurin & Klement trim gets a dual-tone black and beige finished interior. Upfront, the new Superb gets Skoda's signature butterfly grille flanked by stylish Matrix LED headlamps, slim LED DRLs and it also gets headlamp washers. It gets new sporty bumpers with slim LED foglamps. Overall, the front fascia of the car looks really ravishing.
Coming to the side profile, the facelifted Superb gets new 17-inch machined-cut alloy wheels. It also gets chrome strips around the window lines which further enhance its premium appeal. At the rear, again it gets new slim LED taillamps and a thin strip of chrome in between that resembles to connect both the taillamp units. It also gets new bumpers, a shark-fin antenna and big Skoda badging on the tailgate. Talking about the colour options, so the Sportline trim comes in three colour shades: Moon White, Race Blue and Steel Grey while the L&K trim is offered in five colour variants: Lava Blue, Magic Black, Magnetic Brown, Business Grey and Moon White.

2020 Skoda Superb Facelift: Engine and Transmission
The new 2020 Skoda Superb Facelift gets a single powertrain option in the BS6 era. It is powered by a BS6-compliant 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine with direct injection system. This motor churns out 190 PS of maximum power at 4200-6000 RPM and 320 Nm of peak torque at 1450-4200 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) to offer good drivability and lightning-fast gear shifts. It also gets Tiptronic manual gear changing functionality.
2020 Skoda Superb Facelift: Interiors and Features
The new Superb Facelift gets a very rich cabin filled with sumptuousness. The Sportline trim of the Superb gets an all-black interior with red inserts while the Laurin & Klement version gets a plusher dual-tone black and beige finished interior. The cabin is loaded with a ton of features which include a virtual cockpit driver display, an updated 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and SmartLink connectivity. It also gets ventilated seats, three-zone climate control, ambient lighting and best-in-class safety features which include eight airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, reverse parking sensors with camera and many more.

The new 2020 Skoda Superb is available in two variants: Sportline and Laurin & Klement. The Sportline trim is priced at Rs. 29.99 lakhs while the Laurin & Klement variant is priced at Rs. 32.99 lakhs. All prices are applicable to Ex-showroom Pan-India. The new Skoda Superb doesn't have any direct rivals in India and its only indirect sedan rival is the Toyota Camry Hybrid. Talking about the verdict, so if you want a stylish Premium sedan with tons of features, a great powertrain and a magnificent interior, then you should definitely consider buying the new Skoda Superb Facelift.
