One of the most popular hatchbacks in the country, the Maruti Swift was recently caught testing with its grille covered. The test mule car is most likely the facelift which will be coming soon. Read our article to know the changes to expect in the 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift.
Since this is more of a facelift, wholesale changes are not expected. Like other models of Maruti Suzuki, the changes will be more of a nip and tuck and ironing out of some small issues here and there. The exteriors and interiors are largely to remain the same this time around as well.
The 2021 Maruti Swift is expected to be powered by the K12C Dualjet petrol unit that produces 90 BHP and 120 Nm of torque. This unit is expected to be mated to a 5-speed manual and a 5 speed AMT gearbox. While this engine will not a mild hybrid unit, it is expected to more fuel-efficient than the outgoing motor.

Changes to the exterior will be limited apart. The grille is likely to be updated and the design brought more in line with the international spec models. Also, Maruti Suzuki might also update the design of the alloys for the facelifted version of the car. The dual-tone colour scheme is likely to be offered on the top-spec models with certain colours as well.
Interiors will continue to carry on the sporty theme of the pre-facelift models. However, it is expected that it will receive a new TFT MID like the on on the Baleno. It is also expected that the updated smartplay infotainment unit will make its way to the facelifted swift as well. Apart from that, no other changes are to be expected.
The 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift is expected to reach the showrooms by the month of March. With the new engine and the updates, prices are going to increase as well. Current prices of the Swift start from 5.19 lakh rupees (ex-showroom) and go all the way till 8.02 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). The increase in prices is however not expected to dent the sales figures of the Swift.

Upon launch, the Swift facelift is expected to go up against a variety of competitors. These range from products within the same company such as the Ignis and the Baleno but also from products from other companies such as the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS, Tata Tiago and even the Tata Altroz to an extent. Buyers looking at the Swift might also end up cross-shopping with the recently launched Nissan Magnite and the upcoming Renault Kiger as well.
