Maruti Suzuki has updated the exterior paint of Ciaz with four new color options. The new color options are exactly the same as the ones to be available with the 2022 Baleno.
Despite the drop in sedan sales, Maruti Suzuki is still selling the Ciaz, alongside the Swift Dzire. The Ciaz competes in a segment that includes the likes of the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, etc. Prices of these sedans range between Rs. 10 lakhs to Rs. 17 lakhs and most people are choosing compact SUVs in this price range. However, that hasnt stopped manufacturing sedans. In fact, both Volkswagen and Skoda are slated to launch new sedans for the very same segment. So, to keep with the upcoming competition, Maruti Suzuki has updated the exterior paint option of the Ciaz.
The four new color options of the Ciaz have been brought by omitting three color options from before. The new color options are called Celestial Blue, Opulent Red, Splendid Silver, and Grandeur Grey. The other three options include Pearl Arctic White, Midnight Black, and Prime Dignity Brown. Whereas, the options that have been discontinued include, Sangria Red, Nexa Blue, and Magma Grey. Aside from these aesthetic upgrades, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz does not see any other upgrades. The rest of the exterior remains the same, since its facelift in 2018. However, the mid-size sedan is nearing the end of its life-cycle, so chances of a generation change is right on the cards.
Mechanically, the Ciaz is powered by a 1.5-liter K15B naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 104 bhp@6000 RPM, and 138 Nm of peak torque@ 4,400 RPM. Maruti Suzuki also equips this engine with Smart Hybrid Technology that aids in start-and-stop function, and fuel efficiency. The engine comes mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Some of the standout features available with the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, include, the 7-inch touchscreen system that supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED headlamps, keyless entry, push-button start, auto-climate control, semi-digital instrument cluster, and cruise control. Maruti also equips the Ciaz with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, along rear parking sensors.
Maruti offers the Ciaz in the four trims Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha, and the prices range between Rs. 8.87 lakh Rs. 11.86 lakh. Toyota is rumored to bring the Ciazs rebadged version, which they have already launched abroad called the Belta.
