2023 Honda Prologue electric SUV is teased online. The upcoming new SUV will be based on the modular platform & will offer up to 480 km of range.
Japanese car manufacturer Honda is developing an all-new electric SUV for global markets. The new EV is the upcoming 2023 Honda Prologue electric SUV that is slated to debut by the end of 2023. For the first time, Honda has teased the upcoming EV via an online sketch release.
The Prologue SUV is getting designed over the modular e:Architecture that is shared with General Motors. According to the venture, Honda is developing two new models for the brand which are destined to roll out by 2025. This architecture is a modular platform that comprises the base formed out of battery packaging, thus, relieving weight from the chassis.
The e:Architecture is designed to save unnecessary weight over the chassis and enhance the new EV's driving range. According to the reports published over the internet, the upcoming Prologue can equip battery packs ranging from 50-to 200 kWh. This could mean that it can easily attain a driving range of around 480 km on a single charge.
Speaking of the released sketch, the car was mostly designed taking into account the American market. As Honda is preparing the Prologue mainly for the US market, the design is simple and butch rather than futuristic as most EVs nowadays. The body lines are sleek and the straight single front grille slat beholds the stretched-out LED headlights with LED DRLs. Also, the sketch hints toward the large wheel arches with bigger tyres. This hints toward the possibility of an AWD drivetrain over the upcoming electric SUV.

As we speak, Honda is nearing the development of production-ready prototype which is anticipated to launch some time around 2023 end. Primarily, the American market shall enjoy the Prologue SUV but later on the car will make its way to European as well as Asian continents. The size and design indicate to us that it might compete with the likes of Hyundai Kona electric SUV. Also, Honda is struggling to keep up with the pace of current product lineup & the further addition of such an EV seems next to impossible for now.
