2024 Maruti Swift Facelift Test Runs Continue
The upcoming Maruti Swift is not new to the spy shots world and has been caught rolling on a few past occasions. This time around, the headlamps seem to be the target focus of the test run. While the headlamps are assisted by foglamps, they seem to fairly illuminate the road ahead. Although the current model offers decent performance, it always evoked mixed reactions.
The Indian version will be a visual carbon copy of the globally unveiled version. However, it carries the essence of Swift and avoids radical exterior changes. Headlamps and the tail lamps have been tweaked a little along with the repositioning of the rear door handles at their conventional position below the window frame.
Interior Updates: Gets Richer
The dashboard layout is where it resembles the one of Grand Vitara.
The redesigned interior of the new Swift boasts significant enhancements, featuring a modern and attractive cockpit layout. Notably, a standout addition is the upgraded 9-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, a notable improvement from the current 7-inch display.
The air vents have undergone a redesign and repositioning, contributing to a more contemporary appearance. The dashboard showcases a refreshed color theme, elevating the overall aesthetics of the interior.

Powertrain: New Engine With Mild-Hybrid
The upcoming Swift designed for the Indian market is expected to introduce Suzuki's latest Z12 engine, marking the debut of a 1.2-litre petrol unit. This engine was prominently showcased in the Japanese version of the Swift. In the Indian variant, the engine is projected to integrate mild-hybrid technology, potentially leading to variations in power and torque outputs to comply with the country's emissions regulations. It currently locks horns with the likes of Tata Tiago and Grand i10 NIOS.
Verdict
2024 Maruti Swift facelift has been spotted testing and is set to enter production in February 2024. While it gets a few cosmetic changes, the essence is reminiscent of the typical Swift. However, aeging interior now gets a revamp along with a new Z-Series engine with mild-hybrid tech. Overall, with these updates, the facelift comes across as a more fundamentally strong contendor in the market and aims to keep its market share growing.
