Maruti Swift CNG Launch Date
As per reports, the Maruti Swift CNG will be launched in India on September 12, 2024. The CNG version of the hatchback will be available in different variants. It will source its power from the new 1.2-litre NA Z-Series Petrol engine. You will get a massive 60-litre CNG tank inside the boot. As for the power figures, the new Swift CNG will generate 70 bhp of power and 100 Nm of torque.
Fuel Efficiency
The new Z-Series engine provides better fuel efficiency with a slight compromise on power than the outgoing mode. The new Swift is claimed to provide 24.8 kmpl. In its CNG iteration too, the powerhouse is expected to deliver great fuel efficiency and we can expect it to be around 30km/kg. For better context, the previously available four-cylinder engine of the Swift used to provide a fuel efficiency of 30.9km/kg.
Maruti Swift CNG Expected Price and Rivals
Following the usual trend, the Maruti Swift CNG will come at a higher price than the petrol versions. We are expecting it to command a premium ranging between Rs. 60,000-80,000 over the standard version's price tag. The upcoming Swift CNG will lock horns with the likes of the Tata Tiago CNG and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.

Verdict
The Maruti Swift CNG launch is a smart move, tapping into India's growing demand for fuel-efficient, eco-friendly vehicles. While slightly pricier than its petrol counterpart, the anticipated fuel efficiency and Maruti's strong brand loyalty make it a solid choice. With rivals like Tata and Hyundai in the mix, competition will be fierce, but Swift's reputation gives it an edge.
