Hyundai Alcazar 2.0 litre Petrol Discontinued
The South Korean Carmaker has removed the 2.0L normal petrol engine from the Alcazar model page and the 2.0L engine option is no longer present in the Alcazar brochure. The older 2.0L normal petrol engine is now replaced by a new 1.5L turbo petrol engine, This same engine also powers the upcoming Hyundai Verna 2023. The new 1.5L turbo petrol engine of the Alcazar produces equivalent power but much higher torque.

VERDICT- The overhaul in the variants is a part of the new emission norms as well as de-cluttering the brochure as well. With a 1.5-litre turbo petrol, offering a 2-litre petrol option would have been an additional burden. Given the stricter RDE norms just on the horizon, car manufacturers are keeping in line so as to not violate any of the provisions laid down by the regulatory body.
