What Are The Key Assessment Areas In The BNCAP Rating Testing?
Bharat NCAP evaluates the safety of Indian cars by assigning ratings based on different criteria. This assessment covers Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), Child Occupant Protection (COP), and Safety Assists Technologies (SAT), following global testing standards.
They test the car by making it crash into a barrier at 64km/h from the front, 50km/h from the side, and 29km/h into a pole. This helps them figure out how well the car keeps people safe in different situations.

How Did The Maruti Brezza, Baleno, And Grand Vitara Perform In The Global NCAP Tests?
Maruti tested its models, Brezza and Baleno, with Global NCAP before. The Grand Vitara, however, is yet to undergo an independent safety rating.
In the Global NCAP test the Vitara Brezza, previous-Gen, secured four stars for Adult Occupant Protection but only two stars for Child Occupant Protection due to issues like the wrong markings for ISOFIX anchorages and the positioning of the 18-month-old dummy. The 3-year-old dummy, however, received good protection.
The Baleno's crash safety was assessed by Latin NCAP, resulting in a disappointing zero-star rating. The breakdown includes 20.03% for Adult Occupant protection, 17.06% for Child Occupant protection, 64.06% for Pedestrian Protection and Vulnerable Road Users, and 6.98% for Safety Assist.
