Maruti Suzuki first revealed the India-specific Jimny 5-door at the 2023 auto expo. Now the 4X4 SUV from Maruti is all set for a grand launch sometime in June. Also, Maruti has already received over 30,000 bookings for the Jimny even before its launch. Although all the specs & feature details of the Jimny have been available for some time now, its official fuel efficiency figures were unknown till now. Maruti has now also revealed the official claimed fuel efficiency figures of both the manual transmission Jimny & the automatic transmission Jimny. Here are all the details you need to know.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny Official Fuel Efficiency Figures & Other Details
Maruti Jimny comes in a single-engine option. It is a 1.5-litre K15B naturally aspirated petrol engine which produces 104.8 PS of power and 134.2 Nm of torque. It comes with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The official claimed fuel efficiency figures for manual transmission Jimny is 16.94 kmpl, and for automatic transmission Jimny it's 16.39 kmpl. As it gets a fuel tank capacity of 40 litres, the manual transmission Jimny's calculated full tank range comes up to 678 km, while the automatic transmission Jimny's calculated full tank range comes up to 656 km. However, you should expect a bit lower mileage and range from it as in the case of real-world scenarios. Moreover, both transmission options in Jimny come with Suzuki's AllGrip Pro (with Low Range Transfer Gear) 4X4 system as standard. The 5-door Jimny will be sold through the premium NEXA showrooms in only two variants i.e. Zeta and Alpha.

Verdict: The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Jimny 4X4 SUV is expected to launch sometime in June. Once launched, it will rival the likes of the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha.
