With the country moving towards cleaner emission norms, Maruti Suzuki is in the news again with updating its fleet. With already eight cars running on BS6, Maruti Suzuki has launched its best selling multi-purpose van Eeco at a price of Rs 3.81 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
With the upgradation to newer BS6 technology, Maruti Eeco sees a price hike of up to Rs 30,000. Also, the performance figures of the rear wheel driven van remains the same at 73 Nm but the torque figures get reduced to 98 Nm from 101 Nm. The ARAI certified fuel efficiency is increased from 15.37 km/l to 16.11 km/l. Maruti also offers a CNG variant to the Eeco but the prices for the same haven't been announced.
Talking about the sales of the Maruti Eeco then it saw a growth of 36% in 2019 from 2018. The van has categorised itself into an image of "Parivaar aur Vyapaar ka No.1 Saathi". We say it because ever since its launch in January 2010, the van has crossed 6.5 lakh sales cumulatively. It gets a market share of 87% in the van segment.

Maruti Eeco also gets equipped with standard safety features like a driver-side airbag, Antilock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, reverse parking sensors, driver and co-driver seat belt reminder, and high-speed alert system.
