Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced a voluntary recall of around 20 thousand units of the Eeco due to incorrect marking of wheel rim size. The vehicles manufactured from 19 July 2021 to 5 October 2021 may suffer from this issue. However, this defect has nothing to do with the performance, safety or reliability of the vehicle and the respective owners need not be worried about a safety concern.
You can check if your own Maruti Suzuki Eeco is eligible for a recall by logging onto this link or you can log onto the automaker's website and switch to the 'Imp Customer Info' tab where you can find the circular for the recall. Then you can fill up the chassis number of your vehicle (MA3 followed by a 14 digit alphanumeric number) and check if your vehicle is on the list. You can find your vehicle chassis number on the Vehicle ID plate or on the registration documents or on the invoice of the vehicle as well!
The owners of the affected vehicle would be in constant touch with the company's authorised workshops for vehicle inspections and the needful diagnosis or work which is required if the wheel rim size marking is found incorrect. All the proceedings undertaken would be free of charge.
Dating back to November 2020, Maruti Suzuki had issued a recall for Eeco for a possible issue of the standard symbol missing on the headlamp where more than 40 thousand vehicles were affected by this issue.
