Maruti Suzuki Baleno is a very popular premium hatchback in the Indian market. However, nowadays most people prefer crossovers or SUVs over hatchbacks. In India, we already have some hatchback-based crossovers like the Ford Figo-based Freestyle, Honda Jazz-based WR-V, etc and now Maruti Suzuki is also working on a Baleno-based crossover. Ahead of its official launch, here we have a digitally rendered version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno that has been modified into a crosshatch. Let's have a look.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno was first launched in India in the year 2015 and it has got several updates over the years. The Maruti Baleno is also quite popular in the used car market and since it is mod-friendly, we can find some of its really tastefully modified versions too. Today, we have a digitally modified Maruti Baleno and these render images of the crosshatch look quite good. As you can see in the image, this digitally rendered Baleno gets a completely blacked-out grille along with a new sporty bumper and other styling bits.

However, there are some other styling elements that look functional too. For instance, it gets new air vents at the edges of the bumper, a massive central air dam, a subtle little splitter and the new circular fog lamps have been mounted on the bumper of the car. This Baleno's front bumper looks quite aggressive with blacked-out elements. From the side profile, one can see its massive 10-spoke alloy wheels and functional roof rails. This digitally rendered Baleno also gets body cladding all-around for that tough appeal.
If and when Maruti launches the Baleno Cross, that will most likely get the BS6 compliant 1.2-litre K12C Dual-Jet petrol engine. This BS6 motor churns out 90 PS of power at 6000 RPM and 115 Nm of torque at 4400 RPM in the Baleno and the engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
