Suzuki is expected to offer its next-gen S-Cross with a front-wheel-drive configuration as standard with an AllGrip traction 4x4 variant as an option. The upcoming S-Cross will be powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged Boosterjet petrol engine that would be capable of churning out 140hp of maximum power and 220 Nm of peak torque and the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine would be capable of producing 103hp of maximum power and 138 Nm of peak torque. Both the variants will come with a mild hybrid technology that will include a 48v motor mated to a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission.
There is a possibility that the S-Cross to be launched in India might come with a 1.5-litre diesel engine in the BS6 norms which would be capable of producing 94hp of maximum power and 225 Nm of peak torque mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. And if not diesel, it will come with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor and will look more or less similar to the S-Cross designed for European markets. The car would be built on the DNGA architecture.
