The proper off-road venture enthusiasts can have a moment of joy if they have booked the Maruti Jimny. The waiting time for this Maruti 4X4 has dropped and can now reach you a bit early than before. Since it is a problem that has gripped the entire Auti industry, this comes as a sigh of relief.
Let's check out the reduced waiting times that are now prevalent.
Maruti Jimny Waiting Period
Maruti Suzuki launched the much-anticipated Jimny in India last month with a starting price of Rs. 12.74 lakh (Ex-showroom). The SUV, showcased for the first time at the Auto Expo 2023, comes in two variants and offers seven color options. Recently, the automaker disclosed the waiting period for the Jimny.
While at launch, Nexa dealerships were overwhelmed by its warm welcome and the delivery times touched the 30-35 weeks mark. However, the same is now down to 24-28 weeks depending on the variant and color options opted.

Maruti Jimny Engine Details
Jimny comes with a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine, generating an impressive 103bhp and 134Nm of torque. It comes mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed torque converter. Power is efficiently distributed to all four wheels through Maruti's advanced AllGrip Pro 4x4 system, which also includes a low-range gearbox. There is no oil burner option as Maruti axed the diesel engines from its line-up way back in 2020.
Price
Variant | Ex-showroom price |

Zeta AT | Rs. 13.94 lakh |
Alpha MT | Rs. 13.69 lakh |
Alpha MT dual-tone | Rs. 13.85 lakh |
Alpha AT | Rs. 14.89 lakh |
AT dual-tone | Rs. 15.05 lakh |
The ex-showroom price starts at Rs. 12.74 lakhs for the Zeta Manual and goes all the way up to Rs, 15.05 lakhs. It gets a total of 6 variants and only a single engine choice.
However, it does not have any direct rivals as of now, but since it is an off-road-centric vehicle, people going for a Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha will take a look at this side as well. Interestingly, due to its increased family friendliness, thanks to the 2 extra doors for the second row, Thar and Gurkha are coming soon with extra doored models as well.
Verdict
The reduction in waiting time is a reieving moment for the buyers. However, since a majority of buyers have booked it as a secondary vehicle, the wait was not very painful. With delivery times now under the 28 week mark, it could potentially dent the sales of other long waiting period vehicles.
