Skoda Elroq E-SUV Details
Skoda's electric plans have recently unveiled that it'll introduce new 6 EVs by 2026. One of these models will be the Elroq SUV. It is going to replace the Karoq SUV in the global market. Skoda has also released the silhouette images of the Elroq showing its new Modern Solid design philosophy. The released teaser images show that Skoda has also encapsulated the Vision 7S design in the Elroq neatly. It'll be a butch-looking SUV with sharp curves and minimalistic panels. Not to mention, it'll also feature lots of aero-aids that will help in its drivability.
Speaking of its drivetrain, it'll feature a big 77kWh battery pack. This li-ion battery shall provide the Elroq a claimed driving range of up to 480 km per charge. However, the real-world driving range will be less than the claimed range. Additionally, Skoda might offer multiple variants of it like the Enyaq with a vRS badge option as well. The possibility of it featuring an optional four-wheel drivetrain can not be denied as well.
Verdict - Will It Come To India?
Skoda has serious plans for the EV market globally. The Indian e-SUV market has been consistently growing with models like Tata Nexon EV & MG ZS EV. Hence, we can not completely deny that Skoda will not introduce an EV model in India. However, the Elroq itself will launch by the end of 2024 globally. Maybe in the distant future, the Elroq or similar e-SUV from Skoda might launch in India. But, this won't happen anytime before 2025.
