Toyota India has finally taken the wraps off the Urban Cruiser - the smallest SUV from the Japanese carmaker in India. We also share with you the TVC of the Toyota Urban Cruiser. Although Toyota has some unique crossovers like the Raize and the Yaris Cross, the brand decided to take the advantage from the Suzuki-Toyota alliance. As we already know, the Urban Cruiser is the rebadged and tweaked counterpart of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Unlike the Glanza which had nothing extra to offer, the Urban Cruiser does offer a new front fascia, new colour options and extended warranty as well.
The TVC video of the Toyota Urban Cruiser goes with the "Respect Follows" brand line with which the car has been marketed. Toyota has taken Ayushmann Khurrana as the face for the Urban Cruiser. Talking about the features, there is nothing which has been changed over the Vitara Brezza. The front of the car gets the Fortuner-inspired chrome grille and bigger chrome-surrounded LED fog lamps. The alloy wheels of the Urban Cruiser also see a small change whereas the rear profile is identical to the Vitara Brezza.
Talking about the convenience features on offer, we have multi-colour instrument cluster, automatic climate control, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, automatic LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, electrochromic IRVM, auto-folding ORVMs, keyless entry and go and much more features. However, similar to the Vitara Brezza, we do not get any electric sunroof, connected car features, remote start, ventilated seats, wireless charging and other frills which the competition offers.

Moving to the power plant, we have the same 1.5-litre four-pot petrol engine which churns out 105PS and 138 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual and 4-speed AT gearbox. The only difference which was highly anticipated was the mild-hybrid system offered with manual trims as well. Unfortunately, the Urban Cruiser also only offers the mild-hybrid system with the AT trims. The pricing of the Toyota Urban Cruiser starts from Rs 8.40 lakh and goes to Rs 11.30 lakh. Toyota has priced the Urban Cruiser Rs 5,000 to Rs 15,000 more than the Vitara Brezza.
