Mahindra XUV.e9 Electric SUV - Design, Launch, Price, Performance
As visible in the design patent, the upcoming XUV.e9 will be a premium electric SUV that will start a new era for Mahindra in the EV segment. It is going to be the flagship model that uses the new INGLO platform. The same platform will be used by the XUV.e8 as well. Speaking of the design, it'll get chiselled panels, an aerodynamic yet sharp edgy design, & a wide front. The main design element is the coupe-like roof that will make it stand apart on the road. We've already seen multiple test mules of the XUV.e9 till now. Additionally, the C-shaped angular LED lights and big wheels with bold arches and fenders make it look like a futuristic Mahindra.
While there are no details available about the features and safety, we suspect that it'll get a three-screen connected digital display on the dashboard. This might be 12.3 inches in size per screen. Moreover, ADAS Level 3 features are also expected to be offered. The sharp design will have a low coefficient of drag, thus leading to better performance. Online rumours suggest that it'll get a bigger battery that might generate 300 bhp of peak power. Its top speed is rumoured to go beyond 200 kmph, while the range will exceed 500 km.
Verdict
The new XUV e.9 is expected to debut by early 2025 in the Indian market. It'll directly compete with the likes of Kia EV6 & Hyundai Ioniq 5. As it is going to be a flagship model for Mahindra, we expect that it'll be priced above Rs 50 lakh.
