Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Invicto - Details
The new Invicto MPV is going to launch on 5 July in India. However, it'll not be an all-new vehicle as it is essentially a Toyota Innova Hycross underneath the skin. This new MPV looks similar to the Hycross itself. But, look closely at the latest photos and you can spot the changes. The front grille is different with dual chrome slats. Also, the front bumper has been redesigned. The LED DRLs are also looking smaller in size than the Toyota sibling. Moreover, the side profile uses new dual-tone alloy wheels with wheel arch cladding in body paint. The rear end is equipped with a redesigned LED taillight set which seems inspired by the Grand Vitara to an extent. Meanwhile, the rest of the MPV design looks largely similar to the Hycross.
As the car seen here looks ready for showroom, we suspect that the deliveries will begin soon just after its launch. Maruti will focus on the deliveries because Hycross is currently struggling in this area. Customers have been allotted a delivery time of up to 2 years for Hycross and this is where Maruti will play its game. If we speak of the interiors, it shall get the same design as the MS logo. The Ottoman seats, leather upholstery, 360-degree parking assist, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lights, etc., will feature on Invicto as well.
Underneath its bonnet will be the option of a single petrol engine. It is a 2.0-lt NA petrol motor that comes with a strong hybrid powertrain. This engine makes a peak power of 183 bhp & 260 Nm of peak torque. It'll be offered only with an e-CVT transmission. Hence, the Invicto will also become the first-ever Maruti to be offered with only automatic transmission.
Verdict
The nearing launch of Invicto means that Maruti is all geared up with dealership stockyards being enriched with the MPV. Maruti knows that the key game is the delivery time here as the demand for Invicto is suspected to be high. The launch of it is on 5th July and we are expecting that it'll be priced at least Rs 50,000 or more than the Hycross itself. This will be due to the royalty which Maruti needs to pay Toyota for the Invicto.
