KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- Upcoming Skoda Kodiaq two variants spotted.
- It will launch in May 2025, alongside the Skoda Superb.
- It will be assembled in India via the CKD route.
In November, Skoda Auto India confirmed that it will launch the new-generation Skoda Kodiaq and Skoda Superb. Recently, the Kodiaq was spotted testing completely undisguised. As these models are already sold in international markets, with photos easily available, the automaker is not covering them during testing.
Two variants of the Kodiaq were spotted, and the exterior differences were clearly visible, which I will outline below. Be sure to join the 91Wheels Whatsapp Channel to stay updated on the latest automotive news.

Skoda Kodiaq
The upcoming Skoda Kodiaq will follow the same approach as other Skoda international models, being assembled via the CKD route. Recently, two variants were spotted, one of which had a body-colored bumper with a chrome finish. This model also featured a 4x4 badge, indicating that it is likely the Laurin & Klement variant. The second variant had a simpler bumper design with a chrome garnish, suggesting that it might be the entry-level version. The 4x4 badge could not be clearly seen in the photo, but I believe Skoda might make this variant a FWD model.
Different style of alloy wheels
Another important thing I noticed is that both cars had different styles of alloy wheels. The model with the 4x4 badging appears to have R18 diamond-cut wheels, while the second variant features dual-tone alloys, which could be machined-finish R19 wheels.
This is how the new generation looks
Other details about the Skoda Kodiaq include that it will retain the 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox, producing 190 PS and 320 Nm of torque. This same engine is also available in the Skoda Superb. The upcoming model may feature ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, larger infotainment screens, and additional features for rear passengers.

Verdict
The new-generation Skoda Kodiaq is expected to arrive around May 2025, and we already have a clear idea of how it will look in real life. While the Kodiaq may offer 4x4 capabilities, its long wheelbase and relatively low ground clearance make it less suited for off-roading. As a result, it is more of a soft-roader. That said, the Kodiaq is an incredibly comfortable car to drive, and its Laurin & Klement (L&K) trim is always packed with features.
