If there's one car in the Indian market that never fails to impress with its unlimited editions then it has to be the Volkswagen Polo. Well, there's its stretched up sibling too, the Vento but this new matt edition is exclusive to the Volkswagen Polo only.
So what has changed in the new Volkswagen Polo Matt Edition and if you should be getting one? Well, we will answer everything related to it but before we do that, make sure you are a member of our exclusive 91Wheels Telegram group where we bring you all the latest updates related to the Indian Automotive Industry.
One of the first changes is the matt wrap in the grey finish which really brings a character to the Polo. Reports suggest that this matt wrap is reserved for the top-spec GT TSI variant only of the Polo. The German carmaker is hinting on to bring this special edition during the festive season.

To make the matt wrap interesting, the Polo also gets gloss black treatment on door handles, ORVMs and the spoiler. The stickering of the GT TSI on the rear quarter is in a similar grey matt scheme but we believe that at the time of the launch it will get a gloss black treatment. Similarly, chrome badging on the rear too can see gloss black treatment.
Overall, this matt edition looks fantastic to watch, however, we wished that it could have brought in gloss black colour scheme to the alloy wheels as well. Rest, the car carries a similar design treatment as the current one and nothing has changed.
We believe that the interiors will continue with a similar colour scheme but a few badges of the matt edition will really make it class apart at the time of the launch. As of now, the official launch date for the Polo GT TSI matt edition is not out.

Under the hood, it will continue with the similar 1.0-litre, three-cylinder BS6 compliant turbocharged petrol motor. This unit generates 110 PS of power with 175 Nm of peak torque. It will be paired to a 6-speed torque converter unit but we wish if there was a 6-speed manual transmission with this GT variant.
This matt edition will continue to feature the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features like a multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, automatic climate control and rain-sensing wipers will follow once it is launched.
