What Is Frunk?

A Frunk is an extra storage compartment located under the hood of an electric car. So, unlike traditional ICE cars, EVs have fewer mechanical parts, which free up some space that can be used for different purposes. This is added utility, especially valuable in a country like India. However, some of the cars that offer frunk include Tata Punch EV, Nexon EV, Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, XEV 9E, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and BYD Sealion 7.

While the Tata Punch EV may not have the largest frunk among the cars on this list, it still offers a reasonably sized storage space across its variants. Although exact figures aren't mentioned on the official website, the frunk remains a practical addition. Still, we believe it would be somewhere around 10 to 11 litres after looking at this picture. Moreover, the Punch EV offers two different motor options: 60kW and 90kW, powered by 25kWh and 35kWh battery packs. The larger battery pack offers a claimed range of 365km on a single charge, whereas the smaller battery has a range of 265km
