The 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift has been in the news for a while and the carmaker has now confirmed that the official bookings of the premium hatchback can be done at your nearest dealerships or by logging in to the Maruti Nexa website for just Rs 11,000.
Apart from the changes in the exterior and interior styling, this new-age Baleno also receives segment's first, Head-up Display. This segment-first feature will allow the customers to drive without having to take their eyes off the road by conveniently displaying information like the speed, temperature, time and more.
The styling of the Baleno is now completely changed. On the outside, the grille design is completely new and looks more agile. Similarly, the L-shaped headlight cluster with integrated LED daytime running lights gives the hatchback a modern approach. The hood of the car is flatter than before and the stance of new-age Baleno looks wider.
The design language on the sides looks more or less the same except for the new alloy wheels design. At the rear, the new-age Baleno now gets restyled tailgate and the new L-shaped tail lamps that now extend all the way to the tailgate.

On the inside, we can expect a bigger 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the offer. Features like automatic climate control, tilt-adjustable steering wheel, cruise control will be carried over from before. To compete with the rivals, Baleno could also get a fast wireless charging pad. Do expect a new upholstery design as well.

Safety features on the Maruti Baleno include dual airbags at the front, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, high-speed alert system, speed-sensing door lock and more. According to the reports on the internet, the top-spec Alpha variant could get as many as 6 airbags and electronic stability control.
Mechanically, the Baleno continues with two engine choices - 1.2L DualJet petrol and 1.2L petrol. The former with the mild-hybrid technology generates 89 bhp while the latter produces only 82 bhp. The peak torque on both the engines sticks to 113 Nm only. A 5-speed manual as standard is observed in both the motors and for the automatic, the 1.2L petrol gets an optional CVT as a choice.
