2023 Maruti Suzuki Swift Design & Features
The first-ever spy car spotting of the Siwft fourth gen has come from Europe. The test car was completely covered but it showcased that Suzuki is going to re-design the whole outlook. The evolutionary boxy styling with a slanting roof line is expected to continue with the new model as well.
As seen in the photos, the front appears to be based on the current-gen Swift. The wide-smiling front grille might undergo a rework to make it look futuristic like the recent Maruti cars. We have seen that Maruti is opting for a new design language that is prominent in the new cars like the 2022 Brezza & the 2022 Baleno as well.
The headlights are looking sleek and sharp than before. Maybe, it will feature new LED DRLs along with a new headlight design. Additionally, the bumper has been reworked and more open-air dams for the engine cooling. Another thing to notice is the thick and more upright C-pillar. Swift is known for a short and coupe-like roofline that the new car might lose.
The 'hidden' door handles for the rear doors are also gone and replaced with the conventional door handles. The alloy wheels seen on the prototype car were new and seemed inspired by the third-gen Swift. However, it is only a test mule and we can not comment on whether it is the final design or not.
Feature-wise, we expect that Maruti will incorporate the latest tech in it. This might include - coloured HUD, 360-degree parking assist, 6 airbags, wireless phone charging, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment, etc.
Engine & Specifications
The upcoming Swift is expected to come with the same 1.2-Lt, K12N, DualJet petrol engine. This engine is expected to get a stronger hybrid system to make it more efficient and tractable. The power figures will stand near 89 hp and 113 Nm torque. A 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox will be used to deliver the power.
The new stronger hybrid is an expected unit of 48V. This will be incarnated with the idle start/stop as well as in the driving. This hybrid system will help make the car more efficient. Swift is already known for its fuel efficiency and the more refined engine and tech will make it more efficient than ever.
We are also expecting that Maruti Suzuki will rework the quality of the material used in the construction of the car. This was recently seen on the new Baleno as well, and hence, the new Swift might also feature stronger construction.
India Launch, Price, & Rivals
The 2023 Indian Auto Expo is the place we are expecting the new Swift to make its debut. Although, it is not sure as Maruti will take its time in developing the new Swift. However, the debut will take place in 2023 itself and so will the launch. Pricing of the new Swift is bound to rise due to new tech and features. Rivals include - Hyundai Grand i10 & Tata Altroz.
