2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift - Will It Get a Strong Hybrid Engine?
Suzuki has been testing the new model internationally. The spy shots till now have confirmed that it'll get a new curvy design. While its dimensions shall remain unchanged largely, the new design will be exciting. The front design of the new Swift will be more subtle and yet aggressive in stance. Also, the spy shots reveal that Suzuki has ditched the door handles hinged vertically on the current model. The updated model will get a regular placement for the rear door handles. Also, the taillights, rear bumper, & boot design will undergo changes. Sources also indicate that its interiors will be all new and it'll get more features. We expect a bigger touchscreen infotainment, a new speedometer console, & new seats will be offered.
Under the bonnet, Suzuki will introduce a strong hybrid petrol engine. This engine will also be shared with Dzire compact sedan. However, it is not clear whether Suzuki will sell this powertrain in India or not. We suspect that it'll not come to India because of the higher cost involved to build it. Additionally, Suzuki might introduce the new Swift in India with its new 1.0-lt BoosterJet petrol engine as seen on the Fronx. The new car will debut in Japan during the motor show. However, Indian shores will witness its launch by mid-2024. Its primary rivals will be - Tata Tiago & Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS.
Verdict
Swift has been one of the best-selling hatchbacks globally. In Indian market, it enjoys a strong brand value due to its rock-solid reliability & easy maintenance. With the new-gen Swift, Maruti shall make its brand value even stronger. Due to the addition of new features and probably a new engine option; its expected price shall be higher by a few thousand than the current model.
