Maruti Suzuki Fronx - No Spare Wheel?
With the new update, the Fronx brochure now mentions that the spare wheel has been removed from the car. It is now replaced by a puncture repair kit across all the variants. Certainly, this is quite a bummer for the customers who travel a lot on rough roads and their use is prone to punctures. A spare wheel always comes in handy in critical situations like a tyre burst. However, a puncture kit means the user shall learn to fix a puncture. But, in case of a tyre burst, the users will not have any option left. This step has been taken to save costs for the addition of 4 airbags. However, there is no official statement by Maruti on this decision till now.
Fronx is one of the best-selling Nexa products in India. It is sold in six variants now: Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Delta+ (O), Zeta, and Alpha. All of these models are equipped with 16-inch wheels. The Sigma and Delta comes with steel rims while the other models are offered with alloy wheels. To remind you, the Fronx is a crossover based on the popular Baleno platform. It is sold with two engine options that include a 1.2-lt naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.0-lt turbo-petrol. Maruti offers a 5-speed manual, a 5-speed AMT, and a 6-speed torque converter auto gearbox options on the Fronx.
