Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has updated the colour palette of its flagship EV the IONIQ 5 in India. The brand has launched a new Titan Grey colour for the IONIQ 5 and with this, the EV now comes in 4 colour options. Hyundai IONIQ 5 - Now Available In 4 Colour Options
With the introduction of the new Titan Grey colour, the colour palette of the IONIQ 5 now offers 4 options including Midnight Black, Optic White, & Gravity Gold Matte. The brand has also introduced Obsidian Black and Dark Pebble Grey interior colour options. It is important to note that these new enhancements come without any additional cost.
The IONIQ 5 is built on Hyundai's E-GMP platform and comes with a 72.6 kWh battery pack, giving it a range of 631 km. In India, the IONIQ 5 comes with a single RWD configuration. The motor in the EV produces 160 kW of power and 350 Nm of peak torque.
Hyundai's flagship EV is priced at Rs 46.05 lakh (ex-showroom). The EV can be booked with a booking amount of Rs 1 lakh through Hyundai's D2C platform.
Hyundai-KIA Partnered With Exide Energy
In other news, Hyundai & KIA has partnered with Exide Energy for the localization of EV batteries in India. Both brands have signed an MoU for the development of LFP batteries in the country. This partnership will be beneficial for the development of EVs in the country and for the brands to keep the pricing low with the localized battery cells.
Verdict
The new colour addition in the Hyundai IONIQ 5 lineup will help the brand to attract more customers. The IONIQ 5 comes with a premium price tag but still more affordable than its competitors like the Volvo XC40 Recharge and KIA EV6.
