Kia Carens MPV is quite a success in the Indian market where it is getting increased traction as time goes on. Taking it a bit further, the Kia Crens EV has been officially confirmed for 2025. Kia Carens EV Confirmed For 2025
As confirmed by the brand's CEO and president, Ho Sung Song, 2 mass-market EVs are set to enter the Indian market with Kia Crens EV being one of them. It will enter the market in 2025 and will be the first locally produced EV from the South Korean car giant. Not only this, one more EV will be making its way following the Carens EV, details of which were not revealed.
Although no details have been revealed, we expect it to offer a claimed range of around 550-600 km on a single charge. You will see a simplified list of variants on offer with probably 2 battery pack options. The feature list by the time it hits the showroom will definitely be richer and is expected to offer techs like ADAS, ventilated seats, a fully digital instrument cluster, powered seat adjustments, a bigger infotainment screen, and a few more.
Meanwhile, following the ICE to EV trend, the Kia Carens EV can be placed somewhere in the ballpark of Rs. 22- 27 lakhs. On its launch, it will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta EV, Elevate EV, Mahindra XUV.e8, and others in the big electric cars segment.

Kia Clavis EV To Be The Second In Line?
Although no concrete details, the Kia Clavis EV could be the potential other EV that was a talking point along with the Carens EV. Spied on multiple occasions in the past, the Clavis is based on the Hyundai Exter. Interestingly, the same ICE Kia Clavis is expected to launch in the first half of 2025.
Verdict
Kia is planning neatly for an EV portfolio in the future while carefully curating the products according to the segment in demand. After its research, they have locked the perfect targets to hit. While one is a confirmed MPV, the othe probably will enter the compact SUV space, keeping in mind its popularity in the Indian Subcontinent.
